An ATEX analysis is required if products are to be used in or in connection with a potentially explosive atmosphere. Potentially explosive atmospheres, as defined by Directive 2014/34/EU, are areas in which the atmosphere may become explosive due to local and/or operational conditions.

Overview and Applications

The RM 5000/S EX was developed for demanding applications involving large containers in explosion-proof work areas. This model incorporates the high-performance characteristics of the RM 5000/S and expands upon them with an air-operated drive and control system fully adapted to EX conditions.

All drive and control units are pneumatically operated. The pneumatic drive operates with 6 bar of filtered air. This makes the system suitable for applications where conventional electrical designs are not an option or where special safety requirements apply.
